May is Mental Health Awareness Month
Please join Woodland Centers on May 18th from 1-3 pm at Smith Park in Montevideo for our Mental Health Walk. We also challenge you to wear Green on Fridays for the month of May to help bring awareness to mental health.
Things to help improve your mental health:
• Make your mental and physical health a priority. Physical and Mental health- they are the SAME and without a healthy mind it’s hard to have a healthy life style.
• Check in on yourself and your people this month and every month.
• Educate yourself on mental health, and start the conversations- help end the stigma so those wanting and needing to ask for help might feel a little more “safe” to seek it!
Let’s all do our part to raise awareness, understanding and empathy! There is NO shame in NOT being ok, and there is NO shame in needing and asking for help! That’s where your strength lies…..in acknowledging and reaching out for help!
