Mission Sunday
Mission Sunday is held annually the second Sunday in July at the Lac qui Parle Mission. Our worship service begins at 10:30 am with a guest pastor. The Dakota Ascension Choir sings several Dakota hymns and the entire congregation sings the "Dakota Hymn Lac qui Parle" also known as "Many and Great Oh God Are Thy Things." A potluck picnic is held near the Lac qui Parle dam area and an afternoon program highlighting the Dakota or Missionaries begins at 1:00 pm. Mission Sunday celebrates the Christian faith and heritage of the Dakota and missionary descendants. Please join us for a delightful day of reflections at our annual Lac qui Parle Mission Sunday celebration!
