“Better Together” is a locally organized service project for the purpose of cross-cultural community building event in which community members will package meals with their neighbors for their neighbors. This event provides participants with the opportunity to get to know their fellow community members while working alongside them for a good cause as over 600 volunteers will come together to celebrate diversity in our community and to package over 100,000 meals for local distribution. While this event will be similar to the meal packaging held at the TACC in 2012, this time we are focusing on community building and local distribution of the meals.
The public is invited to sign up for one of the 2 ½ hour packaging shifts, the first 30 minutes of which will be spent in a required cross-cultural orientation and training session. Volunteers of all ages and abilities are welcome. Children 12 and under must be supervised by an adult.
The food will benefit local needs and be distributed through local organizations.
